About Us
The Blossom International School was founded by a small group of teachers who were parents, seeking to create an alternative style of education for their own children. We began in a very small way, with a home-schooling, family atmosphere.
As we have grown, we have always wanted to maintain that atmosphere. This is partly why we have maintained a small number in total but also because as educators we know that small class sizes work best. We believe that children learn in different ways and at different times. Testing and labels are redundant ways of measuring children’s learning which do not value the child’s individuality, learning style and pace of learning.
We do however expect our students to make progress and grow in confidence and autonomy. We do not separate the students into academic or creative, rather encouraging the mutual benefits which both subject areas bring to the other. The social, communication skills we place at the core of our learning are essential for modern life and help to build students’ resilience and confidence.
To this end, we foster collaborative planning amongst teachers and follow project-based learning paths throughout primary and into secondary school and their final qualifications, ensuring that they can access the traditional routes into examination finals.
